Monitoring and Evaluation of the Lateral Stability of CWR Track

Abstract Continuous welded rail (CWR) track has great advantages of low-cost maintenance, environmental influence, and ride comfort. However, the CWR is subjected to longitudinal stresses in rails due temperature influence as well inhomogeneous stress accumulation train loadings. The cause accelerated lateral irregularity that without timely maintenance can buckling. present paper a method stability estimation during its lifecycle using geometry monitoring information from measurement cars. methods proposes systematic approach evaluation based on multiple criteria evaluation. It takes into account resistance track, actual temperatures, condition track. presented case study half-year curve shows practical possibility recent detection sections with low buckling prevention.
